Great British Summer is here

Hello bloggers,
Well it looks like the great British summer is finally here, and  how great it is to see the sun. Although I must say it has been very very hot at work.

All is well with Maison Daisy, I have been trying out some table runners that match the napkins and I will start selling them soon, I'm really pleased with them.

I have started knitting dishcloths too, yes me Mrs impatience is knitting, I have to say its taking every ounce of concentration in the evenings, I have a fab friend Lovely Olive who is an expert knitter and making some for me too, Olive can do two in one evening, I can do one in a week.

I have a couple of new designs for the napkins which if they sell well, I may add to my always in stock designs.

I have had the most horrendous toothache, as people who know me will know I DO NOT LIKE DENTISTS,  however after calling A&E at 3am one morning I knew I was going to have to visit the dentist, the result being a abscess in my gum, ouch, I have to say it is the most pain I have ever felt in my life, he put me on some antibiotics and said keep taking the pain killers and we will see you next week to remove the tooth, well that was last Tuesday, so it will be a week tomorrow, I cannot wait to go back to the dentist to get this tooth removed, that tells you how much pain I am still in.
Apologies to Mr P who has had to put up with me being very grumpy indeed.

The garden is looking very Britshly gorgeous, it seems overnight the flowers have emerged from their sleep, the fruit trees are getting leaves.

Mr P bought me this David Austin rose many years ago and it has moved around with me, it is one of my favourite treasures.  Hurry up runner beans we want to eat you!

We have blue tits nesting in out box we think there are three babies, we have been sitting outside watching the parents feeding every minute or so, sooo sweet, sorry not a good picture as I  didn't want to get too close and disturb them.

A couple of Sundays ago, we went down to the old airfield strip at Westonzoyland to watch mad bikes.  It was great, there were some drag bikes but you could just ride up and take your road bike down the strip.  Some very fast lap times.

So thats all the news from our house, hope you all have a wonderful week, and just a quick Congratulations to Erin and Alderney for their cycling at Goodwood (southdown velo cycling club) at the weekend, GO TEAM BAKER.

Where is the time going

Hello all, how are you today? Well no rain today what a welcome surprise, I don't know about all my friends in blogging land but I am really fed up with the rain.

Well Maison Daisy has been so busy of late, I don't know where the time has gone.  As I mentioned in my last post, my napkins were now in a local shop, and doing so well I had to re stock them up with some more today, I am overwhelmed with all the lovely things customers have been saying about them.  I also have some exciting news with the napkins coming soon, watch this space.

A couple of weeks ago it was my lovely niece's 16th Birthday, sweet 16, and how she has grown into a gorgeous young lady, well most of the time, we went down to Sussex to see her for her special day and to catch up with family.  I made her a cake which I have to say turned out rather good.  I impressed myself.

It was great to see my sister in law also and my little bro, A while ago my sister in law and I were talking about paint and I sent her some ASCP as I cant express enough how great this paint is.  Well have a look at the picture hasn't she done a great job, and I think she has got the bug now, Well done Paula.

Last weekend we had some good friends come to stay, what a great time we had, even though I had to work a couple of the days, it was so good to see them all again, and what fun the kids were, its all been a bit quiet since they went back.
Mr P and I have a few days off this weekend, nothing planned just a relax and a catch up, we have been so busy of late.

I have not put any napkins on ebay lately, simply not had any spare or the time, but if you do see any on here that you like please just drop me a email and don't forget the postage in the UK is free, and I can pop them I'm the post to you.

Oh my big bargain of this month is some patio fruit trees I have purchased, yes ok I will confess I bought them from the shopping channel one morning when, with strong coffee and a crumpet I was trying to awake, convincing myself I was not tired and I was going to get through the day with just one coffee, well what a bargain they were, they came bare rooted with the pot all ready to be planted up, they have been grafted so should fruit this year, already I have blossom and leaves, and they shouldn't get any higher than 7ft.  I have apple, pear, plum and cherry, when the weather is better I will take some photos for you all. Lots of jam for the winter months.
So I think that is all my news of late.
Take care

Mondays news

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well, anyone out there fed up with rain? its been non stop rain here.  We need some sunshine again.  I have been very busy of late so this is quite a short but sweet post updating you on the ups and downs of life.  I'm feeling much better, my lovely niece is sweet 16 this week, I'm busy making her a birthday cake, I'm no good at making cakes so a little nervous, it will be either a huge success or the talking point of the weekend.  I cannot believe she is 16, where has the time gone.

I have been so busy with my little business venture, I have a shop www.theblueroom.moonfruit.com who have said they will sell my napkins, I'm over the moon with this news.  My napkins are also going to be on sale at a fair in Kelston by www.themarmaldehouse.co.uk on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th April.  Please take a look at the website for more details.  Unfortunately I will not be there.
I have not done any painting of furniture for a while, but more of that another day.
These are pictures of some new designs I have done, I'm quite proud of them as I'm not hugely creative with designs.  I am going to choose 6 designs which I will keep in stock regularly which are my best sellers.

Of course these are all available to purchase, I only have 50cm napkins instead of the 40cm napkins, but they are the same price.

My lovely nest table has SOLD

I would like to close by asking for your opinion, I am thinking of a blog giveaway.  Subscribe to my blog and you could win a set of gorgeous napkins.  What do you guys think?

Lastly thank you for listening to my ramblings and hope you all have a great week, and a huge Happy Birthday to my gorgeous niece.

New Awakening

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a lovely Easter and full of chocolateness.  I have been feeling down and very sorry for myself of late, I have had, not one but two colds and a kidney infection in the past four weeks and haven't slept at nights just cough cough cough.  I had to work all over Easter and it was mighty busy.  So I was going to start this post with a rant and a moan, but NO I'm not.  The time has come to stop feeling sorry for myself, and stop I want this and I want that, and take a look around and see what I have got.
So this post is about how very lucky I am.

I have been wanting an Nespresso coffee machine for so long now I cant remember not wanting it.  I have the colour brochure, and when I'm feeling down Mr P takes me to my favourite Cook Shop just so I can see them all lined up on the shelf, and touch them and twiddle with the knobs.  Look what the Easter bunny brought me!!!!!

How lucky am I, it is total luxury to have a quality espresso first thing before going out into the mad world. Slightly disappointed that George Clooney didn't come as a accessory thou.

Yesterday I came home from work to find a new born calf in the field right outside our kitchen window, not many people have that in their garden, Last night I had a coughing attack around 3am and just as I finished I heard our resident owl screeching, I looked out of the window and there he was sitting on our garden fence.  How Luck am I.

I have got some new crockery, Sophie Conran for Portmerion in the Hearts range, I have been totally in love with this range since she launched it, however bit too pricey for me, so I didn't think I would be owning any of it.  However a trip down to Clark's Village in Street and they had slight seconds in the crockery shop, well I was beside myself with excitement.  The range is slightly uneven I guess is the best way to describe it, and the seconds are just slightly more uneven than normal.  I purchased some bowls, some soooo cute mugs that fit perfectly under my George (nespresso machine) and some plates and a jug.  When I got home I sat down and thought oh it would of been nice to have bought the proper stuff and not slight seconds, but no I thought I'm not going down that road, I never thought I would be able to own any of the range and now I have quite a few pieces, all slightly uneven and wonky but that just adds more character.  How lucky am I.

I have a great husband who has looked after me these last few weeks when I have had girlie flu, he has fed me, filled up my hot water bottle, bought me chocolate, I couldn't ask for more. How lucky am I.

So when I'm feeling down looking at my I want list and having to work weekends instead of seeing my family and friends, I will just look at how lucky I am.

On another note, I have more napkins for sale soon,

My Nest table is almost finished, just needs waxing and will be for sale very soon.

For anyone who is local, please take a look at www.themarmaladehouse.co.uk who are launching their first spring collection with Annie Sloan paints and waxes beautiful hand painted furniture and gifts, french linens and much more, Vanessa has also very kindly said she will take a few of my napkins along to sell.  At Kelston Village Hall, Kelston, Bath, BA1 9AG on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th April, 9am to 3pm, oh and lovely cakes too.
That's the end of my ramblings for today thank you for listening and have a great weekend coming up.  I will leave you with a picture of our Easter cake, coffee and walnut not your usual Easter cake, Mr P is making a grand job of making it disappear.
Take care

Spring is here

Hello everyone, well I think spring is finally here, it feels like its been a long long winter, anyone else feeling the same?
I was so excited when I returned home from work on Saturday to find the cows are now out after being in a warm cosy barn all winter, they went mad, jumping and running around, and then I looked out of my kitchen window which looks straight on to what we call the nursery field, and there was mummy and her new baby, the smallest cutest ickle moo.  Mummy is very protective so it was difficult to get a good photo, but soooo cute, still very unsteady on her feet.

My bargain of the week, this gorgeous Paris cushion from TESCO, yes I know so impressed and its lovely,  I bought two and they were £10.00 each bargain.  Mr P didn't didn't notice at first, then a couple of days later he said "not more cushions" No darling I replied we have had them for years you just don't notice, he walked away scratching his head, don't know if Ive got away with that one!!!!

As my love of all things rustic and vintage continues, I have collected a few old mirrors over time, I love the way the glass is worn and goes black around the edges, I have a cute round mirror which I have been thinking where to put and had the bright idea of making into a table piece, so I just took the chain off the back, stuck some felt around the edges and voila, what do you think? I love it.
The weather has been so glorious lately and we have been so busy at work that I haven't had much energy to do much crafting, I have made a few new designs of napkins which will be coming shortly but I have done some more painting.

This is my ongoing project a lovely table with barley twist legs.
I have painted with ASCP in Old Ocre and distressed it. Have I said lately how much I love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint?
Then I found a image from the lovely www.graphicsfairy.com , re sized the image to fit the table, and then printed it.  I used carbon paper to transfer image to the table top. To re size any image I use www.blockposters.com they are great and its so easy to use.
Carefully I outlined the wording, you have to be careful as carbon paper does tend to smudge especially if you lean on it.  You are then left with an outline on the table for you to either paint or I use a sharpie permanent marker, I haven't got this far yet, I may sit down and do that this evening, all it needs after that is distressing however much or little you wish and a coat of wax or lacquer.  I will post a picture of the finished table.  This table will be for sale and I hope someone buys it soon as I'm falling in love with it already its going to look so good  when finished.
I would like to say a big thank you again to Twigg studios for the feature on me, I was so excited for days, and it was lovely to get so many encouraging comments thank you everyone, if you haven't visited her blog please do so it is just gorgeous and full of loveliness. www.twiggstudios.com
That's where I'm off to now,
Take care and be happy
